You are trying to book a flight, your phone has 13 open tabs, your battery is at 9%, and somehow, the price of that flight you saw five minutes ago has jumped by ₦20k.

You close the phone and mutter, “God abeg.”

Booking flights in Nigeria can feel like a full-time job. From hunting for the cheapest flight from Abuja to Lagos, to double-checking prices on apps that never agree, the stress is real. But here is the good news: you do not have to go through that anymore.

Let us show you exactly how to find the best flight deals in Nigeria, without shouting, refreshing 20 tabs, or texting that your budget has “suddenly changed.”

1. Stop Searching on 5–10 Different Platforms

Many Nigerians still believe that checking multiple websites will magically expose a hidden fare.

Truth is, it only exposes you to headache, because prices change fast, and by the time you find a good deal on Site A and try to confirm it on Site B, it is already gone.

So, what is the best strategy? Use one platform that helps you compares all your options in real time.

That is literally what TripsCheck does for you. It pulls in ALL available flight details across ALL airlines, so you don’t have to guess or stress about it.

2. Book Early (But Not Too Early)

Yes, last-minute booking is a ticket to paying ₦250k for a ₦120k flight. But booking too early (like 3 months ahead) might also cost you.

Here is what usually works:
Domestic flights (like Lagos to Port Harcourt): Book 2–4 weeks ahead.
Popular routes (like Lagos to Abuja or Kaduna): Book 3–5 weeks ahead.

Want a cheap flight ticket from Abuja to Lagos? Try to monitor prices consistently 3 weeks before your travel date.

3. Be Flexible with Dates and Times

Most Nigerians want to fly on Fridays or Sundays. So, airlines charge higher on those days. But try this:

Check flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or early Saturday mornings.
Avoid flights between 5 PM – 8 PM (popular departure windows).

This one trick can save you up to ₦15,000–₦30,000 on the same route.

If you are searching for Nigeria flight deals, try leaving early or on off-peak days.

4. Do Not Ignore Hidden Fees

You see that fare that says ₦90,000? It might not include:
Baggage fees
Airport taxes
Service charges

By the time you add everything, it becomes ₦129,000.

When checking airfare to Lagos Nigeria or anywhere else, make sure the price you see is the total price, not “₦95k but read the fine print.”

TripsCheck shows you full, no-surprise pricing up front, so you know what you are paying for and what you are not.

5. Stick with Trusted Airlines (and Filter Out the Wahala)

Sometimes, cheap can be expensive.
Flight delay.
Plane “under maintenance.”
Sudden cancellation.
No refund.
We are not here to name names, but if you have ever booked a flight just because it was ₦8k cheaper and ended up missing your event, you understand.

TripsCheck helps you find not just the cheap flight deals in Nigeria, but also the reliable ones. You can filter by airline, departure time, and even refund policy.

6. Book Through Verified Channels

This is not the time to say “my friend’s uncle works in aviation.” That is how many people end up with fake tickets or suddenly realize “no booking exists” when they get to the airport.

Use platforms, like TripsCheck, that connect you directly with airlines. No third-party agents. No mysterious charges. Just you and your travel ticket.
